St Astier Head Off to the Holy Land
St Astier are to start conservation work in December on one of the region’s two World Heritage sites, Lindisfarne Castle.
The National Trust project is expected to run until the spring of 2018.
St Astier are the appointed specialist stone masons, working with Cramlington based Datim Contractors. The conservation work includes internal lime plaster, external lime harling, stone repairs and extensive roof alterations.
Incidentally, St Astier are also working on the region’s other World Heritage Site at Durham Cathedral’s Palace Green.
