Tarran Newland Refurbishment Works
98 Tarran Newland non-traditional houses in South Tyneside are currently the subject of external renovation works to increase the thermal performance of the properties via the application of an insulated render system proven to reduce condensation, heat loss and carbon emissions.
Each property is receiving Whetherby's WBS Brick Effect Render with and an option of an accented cedral cladding or a 1.5mm ‘K' silicone finish (pictured) to lend the properties an attractive, modern appearance. The system is comprised of a series of insulation boards which are fixed to the outside of the Tarran Newlands then covered with mesh reinforcement and a wet natural coloured base coat before the application of a final wet top coat. Mimicking the appearance of traditional brickwork, the brick effect decorative finish is achieved by cutting through the Stockport Red top coat to reveal the ‘mortar’ layer below.
EWI works to each property are typically completed within a period of three days. The finished results are visually striking especially when directly compared with properties which are either not benefiting from the system or have yet to do so.
